I figured I would give an update for my review for SwitchDiscs. So here it is.
I am now getting way more stuff off SwitchDiscs than I am off PeerFlix. I REALLY like the current system of how easy it is to see whether a disc is available or not. I also like the fact that I can choose whether to spend my bucks on a disc or not.
Sometimes discs are overpriced, but you can simply choose not to get those. Also, coming from PeerFlix, the $1/SwitchBuck ratio took some adjusting to, in comparison to the $5/PeerBuck ratio. But if you do the conversion in your head, I've found that at least I think that most the prices are fair and comparable.
I think somebody already pointed this out, but it does seem that it takes longer for discs that I have to get requested, so it can be hard to build up SwitchBucks. But the Fast SwitchBucks Promo really helped me out with that!!!
I noticed that the WishList doesn't automatically update when I receive a disc. This would be nice to have changed, but is not a deal breaker. I wouldn't be suprised if this is part of the up-and-coming release.
But overall, I am liking the SwitchDiscs format better than PeerFlix, because what you see is what you get. There is no guessing about when you are going to get a disc or whether the disc is even available. (The PeerFlix guessing game has gotten old for me. I never know if I am going to get a disc until it is in the mail.)
Also, I didn't expect that I would, but I like that I can trade CDs/Games on SwitchDiscs. I have plenty of CDs that I don't want any more, but couldn't think of any CDs that I would want in return. It hadn't occurred to me that I can trade in my CDs and get DVDs in return. That is very cool!
I also haven't found any problems with pricing, as I typically just go with the suggested value +/- for the condition or how much I want to keep/trade it. |
