I only watch the Oscars. The Golden Globes just don't seem to count. There are so many categories that pretty much every actor has won one already. The Oscars are more exclusive. They need to eliminate about 75% of the awards from the televised show though and just count on the actors, directors and songs. Nobody cares about the "Best animated short film", and the people that win for that sort of thing have the longest speeches.
I preferred it when Steve Martin, Chris Rock and Jon Stewart hosted the Oscars rather than Ellen, Whoopi Goldberg or Billy Crystal. They just seemed more sharp and funny. Conan O'Brien would be my next choice to be the host. |
