I hate sad endings

I have always hated sad endings where the main cast dies or some sh*t like that... I've always wanted to see a happy ending so that I finish the movie on a good mood and being cheerful...

How about you?

I don't mind sad endings, they bring a touch of realism and emotion into the movie. Happy endings rarely give me any kind of emotional response.

I also don't mind sad endings. As ddrive said they make the movie seem more realistic and add emotions. Which some happy endings do not.

Don't your mood drops after the movie? Don't you feel a sense of emptiness in you after the movie? Happy endings, however unrealistic they are, always keep you on the upbeat and good appetite after the movie...

Well I suppose it kinda depends on what you went to see the film for really. If it's just some lazy popcorn flick you see on a Friday night cos there's nothing better to do, fair enough you want a happy ending, but if you're watching something less mainstream with a more involving story, a sad ending can work better, especially if it's predictable. That might sound a little odd but there's nothing worse than watching a film all the way through convinced everything's gonna turn out OK, and then have it all ruined at the end.

Then again I remember Titanic - I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only person in the cinema who was glad was Leonardo DiCaprio died, so there are some sad endings with are good

DiCaprio can die a hundred times over and it will still turn out to be a good sad ending... However, the same cannot be said for Mel Gibson in his movie Braveheart. Wouldn't it be great if he stayed alive but I guess we can't change history...

Nah, Gibson got what was coming to him there, being so unfaithful to history as he was..
