An Inconvenient Truth

I have been meaning to see the movie for a while now since I genuinely care about the topic. For those who have seen it, does it present a doomsday scenario or does it leave you with manageable and meaningful tips for changing your lifestyle?

I've seen it and walked away with the feeling that Al Gore at least has found his true calling, and thankfully, it isn't in politics.

I haven't seen it yet, either, but it certainly looks interesting enough to spend a couple of hours on. I really should get off my duff and rent it one of these days.

I've seen it and to me it seemed a bit hypocrite with Al Gore driving around in his big Mercedes babbling about how everyone should use hybrids and so on. Maybe if it was hosted by anyone else all the good points in this movie would be easier to accept. Also I wouldn't recommend it as a entertainment movie, it's deadly boring but that's probably self-evident.

There are bona fide points made in the film but it's mostly a political vehicle for liberal Hollywood, who made sure of its box office success and subsequent Oscar. That's a funny one about Gore and his Mercedes and you're right!

I have not seen it yet but would like to. I would agree though if you are going to take up a cause like this and expect other people to change their lifestyle you better be able to back it up with your own lifestyle changes. And I just don't see that with Al Gore which can take a good cause and make it backfire when people see this.

Oh, it works for Michael Moore so Gore probably figures it will work for him. I also think the film was a part of a stealth effort to run for President again. I think this election will show candidates using some unusual methods like film, the internet, etc.

I thought it had good information, but I just had tough time buying Al Gore as the host. (I did notice the Mercedes thing) It just seemed like a political bid for Gore and Hollywood gave it accolades to help send out the message.
Very boring. Good information, but not entertainment.

Have not seen it yet. I do plan to. While I am sure the intent and ideas of the movie are good-it does lead one to wonder about the true intentions (and what he hopes to gain) of Al Gore.

Al Gore still wants to be President. He's still bitter about the 2000 election, I think. The Democratic party pretty much shoved him aside after he lost, and he was looking for a way to make a legacy for himself ...and did the film. My thoughts anyhow.
