M. Night Shyamalan

My favourite director. The Sixth sense is a modern classic. Unbreakable was cool. Signs was a bit stupid, but The Village was great.

PS. Wasn't sure which board to put this in

Unfortunatley there isn't a board for shit directors, so in that sense i guess you put this in the correct forum. 'The Sixth Sense' is a modern shit feast, 'Unbreakable' was about as cool as the surface of the sun, 'Signs' was more than a bit stupid and 'The Village' is full of turd.

all in all, mr. shyamalon sucks ass.

nice post by the way

Fair enough, his films are like Marmite, you either love them or you hate them.

Dunno, I liked Sixth Sense. It was clever when first done. And Bruce Willis played the character well, and as for HJO, the kid had a huge impact.

Unbreakable, I felt was just trying to hard, and I suppose me not being a red-bloodied American, not really fond of the whole comic book thing. Seeing as in UK, you are tend to be a bit of a tit collecting comic books at the age of 14+, sad I know, but meh, thats our culture. But coming back to the point, the film didnt have my attention and I drifted onto more concearning things like, how many goals are Arsenal gonna score today?

As for The Signs, it was just far too farfetched, sure, there have been cropsigns in America and all related to Aliens, but building the story around them and giving them such a crap screen presence when they do finally show their rather 'typical look' faces, the screen isnt haunted by them or at all, effected by their presence.

As for The Village, I haven't seen it, so its unfair for me to comment, but if its anything like the last 3, it will just be the same basics of the story with the inevitable twist at the end (which can be seen a mile off now, excluding 6th Sense), then I dont really feel the sudden urge to watch it.

I love Marmite, I hate Bovril

6th Sense was Marmite, the others were Bovril.

Haven't seen any of the preceeding films, but The Village is the first film I've ever seriously considered walking out of, it was boring and predictable in my opinion. The only good thing that came out of it was Bryce Dallas Howard, who I thought put in a rather good performance. I would say it was a bit indulgent to kinda fudge a part to get him on screen later on, but I'm a Kevin Smith fan, so I won't...
