| The only time we go to first run movies is to see the BIGGIES. We just went to Spidey 3 on opening day and we'll probably shell out the bucks for Shrek 3 and Pirates 3. Anything other than the big ones and we just wait it out for the DVD or if we want to see it badly enough in the theaters we'll wait and go to the second-runs theaters. | ||

| Movies are very expensive here in Montreal, about $10 a ticket at least in some theatres. We do, however, have $1 cinemas with a very limited repertoire of movies that have already been around the block a few times. | ||

| So after reading all these responses how long before there is no movie theatres? I just wonder because it seems alot of people are foregoing going to the movies and just waiting for the DVD. I would think as the price goes up even more people will quit going. | ||

| At the Cinemark theater I go to, the matinees are $6.25 and the evening shows are $8.50. It's the only theater that I'll go to now because the seats are way nicer than at the Regal or AMC theaters and the screens are a hell of a lot bigger. If I didn't have such a nice theater so nearby, I probably wouldn't go as often as I do. But I don't mind the cost though. Going to a movie is a chance for me to get away and forget everything for two hours. I think there will always be theaters, just because it's like a sport. People like to see a big movie with a group of people. It might not be long before films show up on dvd or for download at the same time as they do in the theaters though. I think that will be the next big step. You can download movies to an iPod right now, so I think thats the next step. Carrying around an entire library of films in a small device that you can hook up to a tv and watch and constantly update with downloads of new films. | ||

| Movies are $6.50 for regular adult prices, $4.50 for kids. Matinee is $4.50 for everyone. So, while we don't have to pay as much as some of you, we usually only go to the matinees. That's where we saw Pirates 3. Someone told me there was a scene after the credits, that tied the whole thing up. Did anyone stick around to see it? My kids had to go to the bathroom, so we didn't stay to see. | ||

| Highlight the following to read what the extra scene showed: You get a view of a cliff overlooking the ocean, then Elizabeth and ten year old boy walk towards the water. The sun sets and you see the green flash, then Will appears on the Flying Dutchman, headed to shore. | ||
