Movies just make you wonder...

Not just movies, but any story, whether in novel or screen.

I remember one quote (not exact) from a book about the Rwanda genocide: "You know, the greatest invention is the novel. In the novel, you have an ending, and that's it, the end. But in life, it doesn't end."

Every time I finish watching a movie or read a book, it seems like things just end. But then I look up into reality and I get hit with the realization that in my life, things will go on and on without an ending (at least till I die or something).

Anyway, just an observation.

I guess the whole concept of the Matrix is quite a mind "wondering" thing. The quote at the end of k-Pax was great too, although I can't remember it off the top of my head, and can't seem to find it with a search either

That's why I detest to watch movies that talk too much and make one think... I prefer the wham, bam, slam thingy... Isn't movies supposed to be entertaining??

That is part of the fun for a lot of people, including myself. If a movie does not leave me thinking, it pretty much means I won't watch it again, unless the action or plot was really great.

Yeah, a lot of films have a subtext too, despite the fact that they are "wham bam" type films, which is there for if people want to see it, and if they don't, they enjoy the set plays and action. Entertainment can be derived in different ways by different people, for example on some occasions I enjoy discussing movies as much as watching them, given it's with the right people and the right movie...
