Hello I happen to see a lot of such kind of DVDs and VCDs on the racks these few days, especially the Christmas ones like 12 dogs of christmas. These aren't on the cinemas, right?

If so, can such be good entertainment?

well, if the story plot on the back sounds good or better yet highly recommended by some recognised organizations. why not? it's worth a try i guess if it's like that

Maybe they don't have enough budget to have it on the theatres.
Which means its a very low budget film...
