The Passion Recut?

Thoughts?

Weird, eh? According to Variety, the film will be released unrated because even with some of the scenes removed, it would still get an "R" rating.
Expect to see THE PASSION RECUT back in theaters (although only in limited release, approximately 500-700 theaters), on March 11th-- just in time for Easter, baby! Upon its initial release last year, the film grossed over $370M in North America alone, and over $600M worldwide.

I would certainly be more interested in seeing it a second time around if it was less violent. I know the film was trying to as accurately as possible portray the journey suffered by Jesus, but some scenes were simply too much. Particually in the courtyard where he is chained to the post, and whipped with various items. It's rather gutwrenching, quite literally, when they use the whip with spikes and chunks of his body come away.

I've never seen the first one, as it didn't seem like a movie that would interest me.

I did hear that it was very well done, but it was very graphic.

The original's on my "Buy over the summer when I have some money" list, but I don't have any desire to see a watered down version of the film. If it was a director's cut, and how Gibson envisaged it originally, I'd give the re-cut version a look-see, but not if it's a version going for mass market appeal...

Why would you want to take away from a movie? Leave it as is.
If you don't want to see something press fast forward.

Why? Mel Gibson'll earn money from doing so when it's rereleasing in the cinema over Easter... Simple as...

Oooo... He's planning on releasing this in theaters?
I think it is a good idea then...
I wonder what he's doing with the money anyways?

That what it said in the initial post...
And I assume wiping he's wiping his ass with a $100 bill if you guys have them, coz he's absolutely rolling in it, due to the fact he funded much of it himself I believe...

The man could just walk off of the 'face' of Hollywood, and be fine.
He's a very lucky man.

Anyways, he'll surely make a lot of cash off of this release as well.

Yeah, the thing is though, with the cash he has now, he's more likely to try and invest that in another film that'll make him even more money, and again and again until he owns a solid gold castle in Bavaria...
