I was just surfing the net and discovered this. I wasn't sure on where to put it as it was a rumor, and Coming Soon didn't seem appropriate. Quote:

| Movie Critic | Yeah, read either that article or one that had the same content to it a while back, and I'm veeeery unsure as to whether they're gonna be able to pull it off. I just can't envisage Travis Bickle in his 60s being an interesting film concept... As news comes out with any general plot/conceptual details I'll make a bit more of an informed decision, but it seems like a bit of a weird project to do in my opinion.

| Movie Critic | The first one is the film that I'd cite whenever anyone asks why De Niro gets such high praise from his contemparies/critics... The plot isn't mind-blowingly brilliant, but the performance is absolutely captivating. Apparently he spent 6 months actually driving a New York taxi in preparation for the role...

| Movie Critic | I'd say captivating, but it is intense enough to be scary... That's just my take on it anyway, get a copy if you can, or even rent it just to see it, 'tis rather fantastic...

| Well, my point is...Marty and DeNiro are still in shape...and they are good as hell...so let them try...anyhow, Taxi Driver is always gonna be Taxi Driver...the first and only will never change, so just take it as another scorsese-deniro project together... It can't be worse than all the rest... | ||
