Assault on Precinct 13

I saw this film recently and was really captivated throughout. The plot was intriguing and had a few little twists which kept the audience on the edges of their seats. Laurence Fishburne I felt put in a great performance, which could possibly compensate for Ja Rules acting ability

The cast slowly get picked off by the 'assault' and it is at times difficult to know who's intentions are authentic.

I won't ruin it for those of you who haven't seen it yet, but it does involve some pretty dark action. All in all I liked this movie, it's a movie where you can just sit back, relax and watch the violence unfold.

I don't really have too much desire to go see this. Probably just wait till it comes out on DVD and rent it. Looks like another "generic action movie" if you ask me.

It's a remake isn't it?

Yeah, originally a John Carpenter film... From what I've been told from people who've seen both it's an inferior remake, however having not seen it myself, I can't comment personally

It's sad that Hollywood can't think up new films and just rape old ones to make money. The did a poor remake of Oceans 11 and then made a sequel to it.

Yep, it's a remake. but I hadn't seen the original so can't really make a comparison. Having said that the original will probably still be about 10 times better.

That's what I heard.
I am planning to rent it, as it doesn't look too good.

The strange hip-hop soundtrack put me off.

I watched this film, enjoyed it but felt robbed at the end... I had so many unanswered questions... there must be a sequel surely.. It must have been captivating because I rarely form questions in my head unless im really enjoying the film... did the surviving bad cops go to jail, does whats-his-name catch bishop....
