The Da Vinci Code

"Moviegoers gave their blessing to "The Da Vinci Code" over the weekend, spending an estimated $77 million to see the Tom Hanks religious thriller.

Although the film didn't set a domestic box office record, it was the largest weekend opening of the year so far and became the second-largest worldwide release after "Star Wars: Episode III." It garnered some $224 million worldwide, according to Sony Pictures." CNN

So what is your take on the Da Vinci Code? In all honesty, after reading through reviews, I no longer wanted to spend my money on "a pretty-good-but-who-cares effort", according to San Francisco Chronicle's Mick LaSalle.

Well the book was realy good and it was realy worth the read but i know from experience that you are often disapointed by movie adaptations of best sellers

I hope that i'll get to see this film soon. Do those who have seen it think that it truely deserves the 'film of the year' title. Is it as good as the book?

I went to see the movie tonight. I really enjoyed it. I can't say I know much about religion, so it was rather hard to follow. Also, it's hard for me to comment on it, being based on religion, a rather touchy subject. I will say it kept my attention, though. So much of it was belief, rather than known truth. I thought the ending, although extremely far-fetched, was good. My boyfriend was falling asleep the whole time! Apparently he didn't like it too much.

i enjoyed this film actually, it's good to see that they still release interesting movies who aren't interested by the number of deaths than can be viewed a minute....

Yes i'"m not sure what all the bad critics were about, i thought this film was very good and i'd recommend it to those people like me who enjoy films with a real story in it!

I personally thought the film was brilliant , thouhg i havent actually read the book and from what i hear is that if you havent read the book its enjoyable and if you have read the book it doesnt live up to the standards.
I think that ian macellen (cant spell his name) was brilliant and every single line that he said was sadi with such belief. Fine actor

I didn't have the book either but from what i heard of it it sounded great so i didn't hesitate in going to see the movie when it passed at my local theatre and if i had to do it again , i would without thinking back one second. I prefer this kind of film to all the stuff which is usualy released lately

i enjoyed this movie. the only thing that i'd have to point out was the end that i realy found too long.I was starting to think that it would never end. Either than that it realy kept me hooked even though i had guessed that it was the old bloke!
