This weekend I went to see Der Untergang in cinema. The film fades in and fades out with extracts of André Hellers documentation Blind Spot: Hitlers Secretary, in which Traudl Junge speaks of her experiences and the last days in the Führer Headquarter. The last days of Hitler's life are shown in this great movie. As the war ends, Hitler and his entourage know that they will lose the war. Many of Hitler's helpers commit suicide, kill their family or try to escape. At the end Hitler starts talking nonsense, he orders troops to move to places but the troops don't exist anymore. He takes a suicide pill, together with his wife Eva. The war ends and lots of SS-members have committed suicide or escaped. At the trial of Nürnberg they are sentenced to death. If you're depressed and want to see a movie, I suggest seeing this one. You'll walk out of the room with a feeling of being glad to be alive.
