I noticed this movie is getting a 2 disc special edition on 07/24, and was wondering if anyone else is a fan of John Woo's films? And I don't mean the American ones (although face off was entertaining enough ) Hard boiled really did revolutionize action cinema though, it is one of my favorite movies. the gun play was just oustanding in these movies and inspector tequila is chow yun fats best & most bad-ass role. I am looking forward to seeing the 2 hours of bonus footage, interviews & commentary track from John Woo which were absent from the last release of this movie. | I could swear that I read it's also being released as an extra to another movie on dvd, but I can't remember which one right now. I just can't get into foreign films. I hate subtitles because they distract you from everything else, and dubbed films just don't work for me. (old Godzilla movies being the lone exception) I think my favorite American movie of John Woo's though was "Broken Arrow". Travolta was a fun villain (without the wigs and makeup he wears today) and Christian Slater was a great underdog hero. I really don't understand why he isn't a busier actor. Woo's last few American movies have been just...ugly(Paycheck, Windtalkers). | ||
