Hostel

Hostel seems like a very odd movie, like it was just made so people could see how much blood and gore they could handle. I'm definately not going to see it, not because it's too bloody, but it doesn't seem to have a plot. However, all the people I've talked to said they have liked it. I find that kind of weird... but opinions are opinions.

It's about these rich people who pay these guys so they can torture people, or something like that. That's all I know. I'm not going to see it, I don't mind blood and gore, but that movie just seems like it would be too much for even me.

Then you should watch the Japanese Movie called Battle Royal.
Its about Japan having this extremely tight educational scheme that every year when their grades are out, the worse preforming class in the whole of japan will be sent to a remote island where they will have to kill each other and only the last will survive.

And as punishment for poor supervision, their form teacher will be first killed as a sign of commencement of the event....

Really sick... you get to see innocent school teenagers taking each other out... by every means possible....

oh just a big slaughter film hey??? As long as they don't forget to put a good interesting plot in.....meaning other pictures than dead bodies all over.....
I'm not realy into all these modern gor films, but did use to enjoy the sickish films at the end of the 70's, or beggining of the 80's!

It actually does have a plot, but since I haven't seen it, I'm not sure if the plot that I've heard is actually the "surprise ending." All I know is that people get tortured, and there is a part where this guy's eye is hanging out of his socket and his friend has to cut it out.

SICK NASTY!!

Unhappy Hostel

My boyfriend and I watched it a few days ago. Its a Quentin Tarintino Film, which gave me a hint to begin with it was a strange movie...

I couldn't eat or sleep for a while after watching it. I definately don't suggest watching it before you eat or while you eat!

It's about two American guys that are backpacking through Europe. They meet another European guy, I can't remember where he's from though, the three travel together. Their main goal is to meet and sleep with girls. They were told to go to some city where there are hot easy girls. They go there, find the hotels are really hostels. Where they conveniently stay with really hot girls, that sleep with them, of course. Little do they know, the girls are being paid a great deal of money to deliver them to a strange factory to these sadistic people who find pleasure out of torturing them. I can't tell you anymore, because it would ruin the movie!!

Although, I will tell you, it is extremely bloody! They do show someones eye ball hanging out, arms and fingers being cut off, throats being slit, body parts being incinerated, you name it, they show it! It's rather gross, I wouldn't normally watch something like that. It made me NEVER want to backpack through Europe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lauren, I thought so too. When I saw Tarantino name on the movie (it was like if they were promoting his name more than the movie itself - since he is "somebody"), that I took a little research into cast and credits, and found that Tarantino was involved on the very minimal level. They almost brought him there just to use his name during the marketing of the film.

He didn't write, nor directed the film. He was 1 of 6 producers. So I decided not to go see the movie just because their marketing was so misleading. Its usually a turn-off for me..

Best,

As the credits played at the beginning of the movie, they showed only his name, I turned to Enrique and said, "Oh, this is going to be a very strange movie..." and it was! It seems very odd to me that he had little to do with it!
