Miami Vice

The trailer was released today. See it here: http://www.bacardilive.com/

I was a casual fan of the show, but I'm a huge fan of Michael Mann's movies. "Manhunter", "Last of the Mohicans", "Heat" and "Collateral" are just great. This looks to be a combination of "Heat" and "Collateral" in terms of how it looks and the vibe of it. I miss not hearing the tv shows theme song, but I do like the trailer. Guns, drugs, boats, jets and fast cars. That's all ya need.

It should be interesting to see what they do with it, they have been passing the original show on tv here lately;I had not seen it for years so am glad to go through the whole lot again!

What sets this apart from other tv show movies, is that Michael Mann actually created the show and the movie. I don't know of any other cases of that happening.

It may be me, but boy i'd like to see films who are made out of tv shows, be played by the original actors (even if these are a bit more old!)

Well, I just hope it's not the same as the League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse compared to the League of Gentlemen series. Despite saying I liked the film at the time, and still not thinking it was a bad film, now I've sat and watched the original series right through on DVD, the film wasn't a patch on their brilliance...

Colin Farrell is Sonny Crockett, Jamie Foxx is Ricardo Tubbs. The look of the movie really reminds me of "Collateral".
