I had very high expectations going into the theatre, and I was rather dissapointed. Although it definately kept my attention, in my opinion, it just seemed way too unrealistic. The visual effects were of good quality, but still the film was, for lack of a better word, extremely cheesy. | ||

| I think that the two movies have completely different themes. Titanic is more of a love story, while Poseidon is of escape---escape from a sinking ship. Many movie critics have commented that Poseidon possesses striking imagery and visual effects, but it does nothing to reveal the personalities of the characters. Movie Critic Roger Erbert states that Poseidon was "perfunctory, by which I mean, according to the dictionary that came with my computer: cursory, desultory, hurried, rapid, fleeting, token, casual, superficial, careless, halfhearted, sketchy, mechanical, automatic, routine, and offhand."
