The Reaping goes down in flames.

Wow, a movie I was actually watching forward to went down in flames. The last movie to receive such a horrendous reception by the critics was, to my memory, the infamous "Gigli" with J-Lo and Ben.

The average grade for The Reaping is D+, backed by some really nasty comments.

Swank is a two-time Oscar winner. I know she is a fantastic artist and she tends to experiment a lot with the types of movies and roles she gets. I guess all stars have these moments.

I guess I will be skipping on this film.

Yeah, it was pretty lame. There were a couple suspenseful moments but overall I left the movie thinking it was a waste of eight books. Hell, even if I'd downloaded it I'd think it was a waste of bandwidth.

Disappointments

Have you noticed how often this actually happens? Oscar winners following up with duds. Hilary with this flop, Hallie Berry with Catwoman after, was it Monster's Ball? And what has Charlize Theron that's been memorable since Monster? The only woman who did great movies after her Oscar win was Cher. Moonstruck, Mask, Silkwood, even Mermaids was wonderful. Of course I'm a big Cher fan so I might be a little prejudiced.
