Did you guys like the first Ring movie?
Apparantly there were different versions of the movie all over the place.

But anyway, The Ring 2 should be out soon I think.
Who is going to see that?

Erm, there was a Japanese version that was vastly superior in my opinion, because no-one plays terror like the Japanese... The Japanese sequel to it was even better than the original as far as I'm concerned, and I'm assuming Hollywood's remaking the trilogy. If you want to see the stories in their original form, get the Japanese trilogy, and if you want to wait however long it takes for The Ring 2 and whatever they call "Ring 0" in America to appear...

well I can't say I have seen the Japanese one, but yes most people seem to agree its better, although I do have a friend who claims otherwise.

anywho saw the trailer for the 2nd one today, and can't wait to be honest. I thought the first was fairly great so definitley looking forward to the 2nd.

Nope, just read subtitles, which I'm making the assumption that you won't have to learn seeing as well... you can read...

The directorial style was in my opinion far more effective in the Japanese, and the actors portray the fear so much better than the actors in the US version

The first one I did like (it was a good mystery, not a slasher film like I originally thought it might be), so I am interested in the sequel.

i would totally go see the second part of it if it came out. i have looked for rungu (jappanesse version) but havnt had any luck. but if they are i cant wait.

Ringu it's called in Japan, and if you have HMV over there try that, coz they had the trilogy in the one over here, and for £20 too, not so bad at all

I enjoyed the first ring... will be watching the 2nd and praying that they havent gone for the greed angle and made a crappy second attempt.

Have watched some of the jap version but couldnt be bothered with all that reading... its just not the same lol I watch films to relax if I want to read I get a book! :P

I don't think we need to worry about the 2nd movie just being another money grabbing sequel. The movies have been out in Japan for a while, and from what I know the 2nd movie in Japan was as good as the first... so unless the transition into a Hollywood movie is bad, it should be good
