Transformers

Can't wait for this bad boy to show up on the big screen. Just hope that they spend some money on a good script rather than good effects!!!

In fairness Transformers never was really known for it's artistic or literary greatness, it was more of a toy ad... but having said that, I'll likely catch it at some point for novelty value...

Yeah, I never really got the motivation of people collecting cards and buying Nintendo products... But Optimus Prime was a truck, that transformed (I know, who'd have thunk it?) into a big fighting robot thing!!! Or more to the point, it actually did something!!!

Nah, you're entitled to your opinion, as wrong as it may (or may not) be...

Out of curiosity, what's your reasoning behind coming to that decision?

Screenwriter John Rogers mentioned over on his official blog that now that he's turned in a revised first draft of the script, he's off TRANSFORMERS. Why the sudden departure? Is it the usual culprit "creative differences"? Fortunately, no. In Rogers' words "Nothing horrible, everything's cool. But I was technically contracted to start another movie when the Transformers gig popped up. The producers of that flick – including one-of-us Akiva Goldsman – were real gentlemen about the situation and stepped aside for the duration of the high-intensity TF first draft. The next Transformers production pass, adressing specific producer notes, will be executed by another writer or set of writers." Having said that, the folks over at IGN did some scoopage and found out that the new writers are Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, who are mostly known for their tv work on "Alias" and "Xena" but who've scripted the upcoming THE ISLAND, THE LEGEND OF ZORRO and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3.
