Anybody planning to go see this movie (details here http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809273193/details) about the fourth hijacked plane that crashed in Shanksville, PA. I was living and working in the DC metro area, and the plane was believed to be flying to our area. I could see the smoke from the Pentagon from my office. The movie opens April 28 I believe. PS. If I do go to see it, I will go to the earliest matinee showtime, so that my brain has a chance to decompress; otherwise I will have nightmares that night. | ||

| I am looking forward to seeing it, but I doubt I will go to the theater.

| I did go see this at the theatre and I think it is a good effort. I don't think the intention of the film was to make a statement, although it did in terms of our un-preparedness in terms of the FAA and military working together....but no one really thought something like this would happen before 9/11 anyway. I think it does a good job of telling the story of those on 93, although it does get off track with the FAA scenes quite often. I would have liked to see more about those on 93, such as what their backgrounds were or what they were doing that put them on this flight. Sure, we have heard the stories of some like Beemer and a few others, but these were normal people going about their normal day and I think it should have focused a little more on that aspect of it. They also did not always provide translation for the arabic that was spoken which was odd....I wanted to know what they were saying to each other in a few scenes where it was not provided. Overall though, it was a fairly decent movie. Those easily upset about 9/11 may want to wait to see it on dvd or wait until they are personally ready. I openly admit that I had tears in my eyes and you could hear others in the theatre crying so it is definatley an emotional movie that might be too much for some. Forgot to add, A&E also has a version that was released yesterday on DVD that I picked up called Flight 93. I have not watched it yet, but I have every other DVD about 9/11 that was released as I want to keep a collection of the event. Unfortunatley we too often move on from things like this so it is important to never forget what happened and DVD is one way to preserve the event.
