I hope i get to see this film sometime soon, the friends who have tell me it's realy worth the view and that the acting (and singing) is brilliant. AS close as possible to what had been the reality.

Johnny Cash

I thought the movie was so good. I really like Reese Witherspoon, so that probably helped!

I like Reese, too. Sometimes. And in picky roles.
Do you really think however that she deserved the Oscar that year, among all the films made? Somehow my mind is just unrest with Reese Witherspoon as an Oscar-winning actress...

Reese Witherspoon

Well I dont know who was up against her, but yes, I think she was great. In the movie she played June Carter, did you know that it was her singing, not June carter? She sounded great! Her acting was awesome as well.

Lauren, she was in the following category against these fine actresses:

Judi Dench in “Mrs. Henderson Presents” (The Weinstein Company)
Felicity Huffman in “Transamerica” (The Weinstein Company and IFC Films)
Keira Knightley in “Pride & Prejudice” (Focus Features)
Charlize Theron in “North Country” (Warner Bros.)
Reese Witherspoon in “Walk the Line” (20th Century Fox)

I haven't seen any of the movies above, so I cannot comment on whether she deserved it or not, but one thing is for sure - some of the movies nominated during the last Oscars were ridiculous.

PS: Reece sounded great, my guess, is that she is Southern girl with a true Southern accent and voice.

Best,
Artashes

Thank you, Artashes, for finding that out.

That is very strange, just as I read your post, I was waking Enrique up from a nap... we were watching Pride and Prejudice, and he had fallen asleep within the first five minutes of it! Apparently, he found the film rather boring.

Althought I haven't seen the other movies you named, having seen Keira Knightley play Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice, I still can confirm Reese Witherspoon was better as June Carter in Walk the Line.
