The Wrestler

Maybe you've heard all the hype surrounding the film The Wrestler, maybe you haven't. Either way, don't let it discourage you from going to see it. I recently went to a screening of director Darren Aronofsky's latest and came out of the theatre completely blown away. What's interesting about this film is you don't even have to like wrestling to enjoy it. The Wrestler is simply a well told, entertaining story about a washed up wrestler named Randy "The Ram"(Mickey Rourke) who earns his keep performing for diehard wrestling fans in high school gyms and community clubs around New Jersey. He's also in love with an aging stripper, played by Marisa Tomei who, steals a lot of scenes in this film (and not just because she's topless in a lot of them.) Anyway, I don't want to give too much away. See it.

This is the ultimate comeback story. Not only in the film, but it also represents Mickey Rourke's life as a boxer. His performance is definitely worth an Oscar nom.

Marisa Tomei also looks amazing for her age!

Which leads me to my next question: how old is old for an actress? 35? 40? 50?
