I'd say it's more likely that people just lack taste rather than are getting paid, though I'm quite the idealistic person when it comes to things like this, and would rather think that people are just stupid as opposed to being corrrupt, though we all know how Hollywood works by know, I'm sure...

On many occasions I haven't agreed with what was announced during the awards (they often vote all the contrary to what I would of did), some people after a great role don't get anything and people i find average get all the honors, i've stopped trying to understand, i'm sure that if they picked 'civils' to choose the results would be other!
