The really disturbing thing is that I remember hearing a report that said, for young Hollywood right now, it was almost the "in" thing to have addiction problems. Rather than drive away fans, it draws sympathy. I hope not. I, for one, don't symapthize with repeat offences.

I heard this morning that she had checked herself in and said that she definently needed help. I hope that they are doing this for the liimelight or the sympathy. This is nothing to play around with.

I think it's unfortunate that kids look up to celebrities at all because kids can't sort out that someone is cool because they're cute or handsome and the rest of that person's possible personality. LIke drugs, drinking and being a general scum bag. I remember being a kid and getting crushes on actors and thinking that I'd like to look like some actress, but it sort of ended there.

I'm not even sure what people see in her. She's spoiled, bratty, not really even attractive (compared to some other beautiful girls in the business) and honestly I don't think she's even all that talented. I would never pay to see one of her movies (possibly not even if it were free).

She is young enough to turn it around. Part of recovery is slipping. As she matures she will learn to stay away from that which tempts her toward relapse. If she can overcome herself, that alone would make her a role model. Sometimes we learn through other people's failures.

Did I hear correctly that one of Hollywood's other problem children, Paris Hilton, is going to prison? Is this house arrest or real prison? This seems to be the new norm for young Hollywood. I think it's already starting to seem banal.

There was a complaint yesterday that the media has become so bad about building up personalities just so they can take them down when a person isn't perfect. To some extent, that's right since they like to report the tiniest little morsel of info on celebs, but on the other hand if you know you're living your life to make money from the media, then straigten up!

The main problem I have with Paris Hilton is that she does NOTHING! She was born rich, that's it. Now she's just famous for being famous. She might be in a movie or on that insipid reality show she has, but c'mon, there's tons of actual actresses out there that do good work and don't get any of the spotlight that Paris does. And yes, she's going to prison for like 23 days. If only they could televise that.

Lohan is just as stupid. Being a child star, I'm guessing that she probably only has about a fifth grade education. And given some of the thing she says and writes, that might be generous.

All they want is to be talked about, it doesn't matter how bad the publicity is, it's still publicity. Hell, Anna Nicole Smith has been dead for months now but they still have a story about her every damn day on "Entertainment Tonight".

Yes, Paris heads to jail here in the next couple of days.

I am really surprised that people seem mad about Lindsey's Lohans addiction problems. I feel that she is talented and even if she were not I hope that in the end she will overcome these problems and move on in her life.

I agree with the one poster above. I think that something is wrong with society today if young children are looking up to and what to be a star. I mean stars are not role models. I to liked stars growing up but there wasn't one that I ever wanted to be. I just wanted to if anything act in movies.

Thing about Paris' jail time is that I doubt it will change any of the things we loathe about her!
