My cousin!

My cousin, Dan Futterman, is a pretty successful actor and screenwriter, he wrote the screenplay for Capote. I'm awfully proud of him His newest film is to be released soon. In it he is playing Daniel Pearl the journalist from the Wall Street Journal who was assassinated. It's based on Marianne Pearl's book "The Mighty Heart". The film was directed by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie plays opposite Dan as Daniel Pearl's wife. So, I guess this is a plug for his movie when it comes out!

Wow! That is fantastic! Is he your first cousin and do you know him very well? If so, what amazing stories he must have to tell.

I have heard of that movie coming out about Daniel Pearl. I sure hope it will get good reception in the theaters. It is such a compelling story with a tragic ending.

Yup, he's my first cousin, same grandparents, same awkward adolescence together and everything. I was very interested in this movie too because they had to have so much secrecy and security when filming. Apparently they ended up having to film in a different country because it was so unsafe once they headed to Pakistan even with all the subterfuge that was put in place.

Good for your cousin! It's tough to sell scripts these dans and he's done two good ones. The hype on the Pearl film is very good so it's bound to be successful! Capote was very good.
