I thought the animals were likeable enough in Madagascar , but I didn't think the humour was as clever as it was in Over The Hedge. You should see that instead. The animal chracters are a little more varied and devleoped, and the dialogue has more substance.

I agree, Lyndsey. Over the Hedge was clever, the characters were almost "real" - I mean you could see people you knew in them. In Madagascar, it all seemed forced, and I didn't enjoy it.

Not only was Over the Hedge clever, but it was a little daring in its criticism of some aspects of society - like people who move to the suburbs to be close to nature, then they trim it, tame it and fence it off, or the animals who lost interest in foraging for wholesome food when they could get a quick buzz from stealing junk food.

Do you know that the voice of Julien (the king lemur) was done by Sasha Baron Cohen of "Borat" fame? He gets around.

so many animated movies in recent. but this was the only movie got my attraction so much, the way they have developed this animation story and its legends were so cute and cool. also the sound effects and songs are just taking us to a new dimension.
