[REVIEW] The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe

Four siblings, Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter were taken away from their mother to escape war in the World War II era in England. They found themselves entering the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of hide-and-seek in the rural country home of an elderly professor.

When they got there, they discovered a land inhibited by talking beasts, dwarves, fauns, centaurs etc etc. But this land has been haunted by winter for a hundred years and there was a prophecy that 2 sons or adam and daughters of eve will free them from their misery.

The one that caused this was the White Witch, Jadis. But the prophecy also documented that Aslan will return and mass the armies of Narnia to battle the white witch.

The story follows our 4 young heroes in their battle to regain not only Narnis, but discover themselves...

If you loved Lord of the Rings, this is not a show you want to miss! Although I thought it could have been a little longer, but it was still well made and presented. Don't even settle for the DVD! Watch it on the cinemas!

I've been a fan of the Narnia books since I was about 10 or 11 years old (and I'm turning 50 this year, so for quite some time) and I thought this was an excellent version of the story. The characters were very well portrayed and the kept most of the important parts of the story, although a couple of things got left out. Still, it was good enough that I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.

Who is Anne Hesh?

If you meant Anne Heche... she wasn't in the film. Tilda Swinton played the White Witch.

I have to agree on the CGI work. Holy moly! I absolutely loved the battle scene and the griffins and the phoenix and the centaurs. They did a marvellous job of taking me to Narnia, and I've wanted to go there for almost 40 years.

This is the next series that I will be reading to my sons. I took them to see this movie and they loved it. I thought it was a great movie and hope the second one comes out here soon. Has anyone heard yet when that will be?

May 2008!?!? That's TOO far away. They should have done it like Peter Jackson did LOTR. The kids are going to be grown up and not able to complete the series if they wait too long.

I have also been a Narnia fan since I was little, so I was afraid I'd be disappointed. I didn't think, for example, anyone else could capture my image of Aslan. I was pleasantly surprised.
