I am really looking forward to this movie coming out...has anyone else heard about it?? Official site: http://www.stardustmovie.com/site.htm I didn’t even know this was a book, but I've heard nothing but good things from everyone about this film!? It sounds like a love story that takes place in a fantasy world, but with lots of action and a really cool cast: Robert DeNiro, Claire Danes, Sienna Miller, Charlie Cox and Michelle Pfeiffer... I mean...its GOT to be good!!?!

| I finally saw a trailer for this, and I just can't see it making any money. The cast looks too old for something like this. There's a real glut of family-fantasy movies now with the success of Harry Potter and the Chronicles of Narnia. There was that Zathura movie, another one early this year with Dwight from "The Office" and some kids, now there's that Spiderwick thing and the Golden Compass too. Though The Golden Compass does look kinda good to me. | ||

| Nice post dsilva... Right, Ford...I really just meant "winner" as in good film. I don't think anyone is betting on it breaking any major BO records or anything (...this summer especially), although that'd be cool too, I guess??! And, you're right...the family-fantasy genre has been a bit crowded as of late, but this cast and their age is actually what attracts me to it. As someone in their late 20's, I could never really get into Potter...and, although I LOVED Narnia as a kid...when the movie came out a few years ago...it just seemed a little too-kiddie, for my taste. I think this should be a great mix of both... | ||

| Since you mentioned "The Princess Bride", that's a movie that it should really hope to copy. I don't remember it doing all that well at the box office, but it gained a cult following on video. I really wish some cable station would show the old fantasy movies of the 80's. Even the lousy ones would be worth watching again just for nostalgia. Stuff like "Dragonslayer", "Krull", and "The Sword and the Sorcerer". | ||

| Ha ha...yeah, I'm not sure how that one did, exactly...but, I do remember actually seeing TP-Bride in the theaters!? Apparently, there is some of that flavor in this film: Quote:
That's a good idea for a cable station...they should do that for all decades...like some providers do with the (audio) music channels.
