Now this movie was one of the best I have seen in a long time. The background cinematography was stunning in that the density of what was going on behind the action told almost as much about the story as the storyline did. It was one of those movies which stayed with me for days and weeks after I saw it. I actually just took the book it was based on out of the library today!

Some friends of mine worked on the film, and I kept hearing horror stories about the director and how difficult he was. They also had a hard time doing the sets and set dressings because it was so dirty all the time. But, I think the ultimate product was pretty good even if none of the crew ever speak to each other again lol.

I can imagine that it was pretty dirty. I remember thinking while I was watching it how hard it must have been to do costumes and set designs for this type of movie. The behind the scenes people rarely get enough credit for what they do.

I think some of what they went through might have been pretty funny to watch ...from the outside. Cuaron was apparently really difficult to work for and a lot of the crew quit before the film was even completed.

I haven't seen this movie yet. I can only imagine what it would be to work on a set where noone seems to get along. I can only wonder what the stress level must have been.

It's a bad situation ...and pretty miserable for months on end. Some film sets are great and everyone has a great time, but not on that one! The director was pretty arrogant. One whole day was spent finding the proper 'wok' for him so he could cook on set. They kept buying woks but he didn't like any of them. Meanwhile, all the actors and crew waited to work. What a waste of money....no director is THAT good.

I watched this movie and although it wasn't the best entertainment out there (very intense) I couldn't move away from it. I was disappointed with the ending, I was hoping for more...of what, I don't know. But I was like, "Is that it? Isn't there anything more?" But, I do agree, it did stick with me for days and I couldn't stop talking about it to other people.
