Classic Comedy

Forget today's poor excuses for comedy, check out Blazing Saddles. You'll laugh until you cry.

The first, truly great parody was Airplane, with Lesie Neilson, "Surely you can't be serious!" "I am serious, and stop calling me Shirley."

Dr. Strangelove is a good classic comedy, as are the Monty Pithon films.

I agree. You can't go wrong with Monty Python! Is Dr. Strangelove with that guy who is half nazi?

Yeah, a most exelent film although most of our generation will be put off by it being in monochrome. Staring Peter Sellers (who plays a lot of the characters). It has the famous scene of the guy in the cowboy hat riding the atom bomb.

Blazing Saddles is tremendous, as are the Python Films in my opinion. Airplane wasn't quite on a par for me, but then again I'm not a fan of Leslie Nielsen... Still need to see Dr. Strangelove though

I just bought Eddie Murphy Raw, Chris Rock Bigger and Blacker and Richard Prior over the X mas, they are all absolutly great and you would have a pain in your side from all the laughing.

Not a huge Prior fan, but I like Murphy and Rock, and I've heard part of Bigger and Blacker on LaunchCast before... A part about there being no sex in the champagne room... The comments inbetween that were just excellent...

Well from my age Seinfeld is a pretty old comedy! But for the older classics, I really enjoyed the Monkees. I also recently realised they turned into a real band!
