Dogma

What're people's thoughts are on this film?

I'd wouldn't say it's Smith's best, reserving that title for either Clerks or Chasing Amy, but it's possibly his best known...

I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Laughed hard through it, and found that some of the stuff the angels said (Matt Damon, Ben Affleck) was really deep. Possibly the only word I can think of to explain it.

Anyway, I liked the movie. I'm thinking of buying it, but as I just bought 4 DvDs I think I'm done for a bit.

Yeah, Kevin Smith is a much better scriptwriter than he is director in fairness... I need to get the special edition of the film imported from over your way, I'm curious to see some of the behind the scenes documentaries and the like, because apparently things were a bit funny on set with Linda Fiorentino... She apparently didn't get on with the established regulars from his past films or something...

Also, I'm planning to make a £300 DVD purchase off Amazon when I'm working either over Easter or if not then definately over the summer, need to get my collection fleshed out a bit...

Wow.

Anyways, I rented the Special Edition, but they didn't give me the 2nd disc, which was a let down. So I think I'm going to save up or ask my parents/family to get it for me.

If you are spending 300 euros on Dvds, is that about 350 dollars?

Euros!? Never! Pounds Sterling, the only thing I'm truly patriotic about...

Just chucked the basket value into a converter and it's about $575, there's a load of boxsets and classics in there...

Wow.
I'm really shocked. Are you earning a bunch of cash over Easter or something?
As I'd be spending that on my car fund. Haha.

Anyways, how many movies are you buying?

I just saw it again on Comedy Central.
I like anything with Silent Bob(Smith) in it.

Have you seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back?
If you liked Dogma, I'm sure you'll like that, and since you like Kevin Smith, you'll like it.

Oh, I wouldn't be so sure, depends on how seriously you take your cinema... My mate on a media degree loves Dogma, but thinks JASBSB sucks balls...

Of course I tell him he's wrong, but you have to be aware of some people's taste (or lack thereof)

And yeah, I usually earn about over $400/over £200 a week when I'm not at uni working at a petrol (not gas, it's liquid) station...

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a really good movie. Plus Will Ferral is hilarious...but obviously his part in it isnt his best role.
