Donnie Darko Directors Cut

A word of advice. If you love Donnie Darko, do not spoil your enjoyment of the movie by watching the directors cut. Ok so it comes in a nice box, but thats just all that is good about it. Not only are there added scenes which are basically unbelieveably pointless, but also he has decided to change some music. Noteably "the killing moon" which plays at the start has been replaced with some god awful pop song.

a big thumbs down...

donnie darko is great though

Considering you can (or could) get the original for £4, I think I'll just stick to the version I spent that on then I guess...

but the box is great, they need to release the directors cut with the new box and 2nd disc with the features on, but leave the theatrical release as disc 1.

I buy DVDs, and usually listen to the commentaries as many times, if not more than the actual audio track... which is probably why I've watched my Donnie Darko DVD less times than i have with most of the others I own

Yeah, special Editions are a must for anyone who likes to see how films come together and work... or who likes to see pretty shiny things...
