Never trust reviews on DVD covers

I was on for some funny comedy as stated at the back of the DVD........gosh.......never trust those reviews ever again....THE BEAUTY SHOP was downright "UN hilarious" virtually, totally, whatever -ly worst of the worst of the worst!! i didn't even smile or grin...

The next would be Ladykillers....
Never trust a review that was made by the company to promote the movie.
They just want you to spend the dollar to purchase it.

I'd never trust quotes full stop, you can take any review and pick a bit out that makes it sound like the reviewer loved it.

For example (bit on box in italics):

"It would be safe to say that this isn't the best movie I've seen this year."

i actualy never even read the back cover of my DVD's ,i hate pre-ideas on a film before I see it..that way i'm never too disapointed.......well that is....

Never trust any review designed to promote a film. So that's DVD covers, cinema in-house magazines or the majority of websites.

I tend to use metacritic for mine as I find the averages it finds are generally fairly close to my opinions of films I've seen, so for me it's a good resource. Not usually so biased due to the multiple sources either.
