Worst Date Movie

Okay, we have a thread for the Best Date Movie. What would be the WORST Date Movie?

I would have to say any of the slasher/horror movies. They are pointless, and a total waste of time, in my opinion. I know there are people that like that kind of thing, but it's just not for ME. So, don't take me to a movie that has teenagers getting impaled while having sex. Does nothing for me.

I have to agree with you on that one. But another type of movie would be a really long drawn out one. Even if the movie is good when they are to long I tend to get restless.

worst date movie

I agree with both of you. I don't think I'd even be comfortable sitting with someone who wanted to see a slasher movie on a date! At least if you end up seeing a bad comedy together, you can both laugh at how silly it was.

My b/f and I used to go to scary movies when we were teenagers and it was the perfect place for me to have to hang onto him in the scary parts and for him to put an arm around me. It's all in how you use it.

I think the worst date movie is a romantic or romantic comedy that pretty good ...if you don't like your date!

Now you are on to something there when you say it is all in the way you use the movie to your advantage. Never thought of that before.

It depends on who your date is or whether it's a first date or not. A first date or a lousy date wouldn't be the one I'd want to see a movie with a whole lot of sex in it. However, since I'm married, for us the best date movies are actually the really dumb quirky offbeat funny movies.

My husband still prefers the movies with the HUGE explosions and blood and guts flying everywhere. Of course, he REALLY wants to see the next Die Hard movie. I couldn't care less. And, isn't Bruce Willis pushing 70! Shouldn't he step back from these kinds of movies?

Bruce Willis is 52, I think. He's only a couple of years older than I am, and it always surprises me that he's not older. I'm looking forward to the next Die Hard movie as well--I LIKE the action films and I don't tolerate romantic comedy well. The man I most like to go to movies with generally likes the same ones I do, and we've been to the X-men movies together and "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" and like that.

I think the worst type of date movie would be one that is a total downer. I wouldn't even mind a slasher type movie, since it could play into the whole "ooh, I'm scared" role (if the girls wants) I always hide my head and jump at scary movies.

The total cryfests would be *terrible* for a date movie. I am talking about.. movies like Terms of Endearment and Losing Isaiah.
