Matt,

This is not regarding a change to the site, it is about getting additional visibility and exposure for the site. Perhaps another entry into the Peerblog would help to remind folks this is available. Are there any methods you know to get Peerflixtalk.com to come up on a "Peerflix" Google search?

Google actually spidered the site a few days ago and it started showing up in results today.

Because of how google rates results, a search for peerflix leaves it buried, where as a search for peerflixtalk brings it right up. The key to raising it in the results is links into the site. Since it is so new, there are currently few. The founder of peerflix is aware of the forum so hopefully we can get a direct link somewhere down the line from the peerflix site which would greatly improve exposure. In the meantime, I am working on the sites SEO to ensure it's visibility grows.

Another thought, which I need to ask about before doing, is to add the URL to DVD's I send out. I want to make sure PF is ok with that before starting though.

adding a note to the mailer i think is a great idea. I wouldn't be worried about peerflix's reaction. I will be adding it to my mailers. I'll probably come up with some generic paragraph that includes a disclosure that this site is unofficial and not affiliated with peerflix, and print it out multiple times on a page, cut up the page (sorta like a business card), and add one to every DVD I send.

Doubt it would help much, but I can add peerflix and peerflixtalk to my website, Google finally found it after two years, lol.

Contact Info in Mailers

As a new user let me say first, Thanks, Matt for the site, AND second, I would NOT have known about the site except for a user insert with the URL in my most recently received DVD. I say let's start writing it in !

Thanks, Matt for splitting the customer service thread with the illegal disk discussion!

What features do you have available to keep track of a running log of bugs that members find?

There are definitely some bugs in the website. Some are being reported in various places in the threads. It would be nice to be able to report when stuff is fixed.

Thanks again for doing this... I am jotting down the website address on all my outgoing dvds.

If they started happening within the last 24 hours or so, I am already aware of them (and actually caused a few of them) by working on the backend. There are actually two versions of the forum that are mirrored so you could hit either one, although almost everyone is routing to the new DNS. I will probably pull the "older" one later tonight. Everyone should also have their avatars back now.

You should not be experiencing them as of now, so if you do, please post what the error is, or you can PM it to me as well. I will also be porting over to vbulletin shortly so there will be a new look and features available at that point (including notification).

Matt,

I am sorry... I was referring to the Peerflix website. I hadn't noticed anything here.

I just experienced an issue when I reported an illegal disk. It ended up in my DVDs I Have queue. I did get my Peerbux back and my $.99.

Thanks!

Mark

BVan, I think that was me with the insert. I've been putting little notes in my trades, inviting people to come to Matt's site and join in the fun.

And I'm so glad the site is back up! I was going through withdrawal.
