Decided not to make a poll due to the huge amount of games in the series, and instead throw it open to discussion:

To weigh in, I'll say that FF7 is the seminal title, though I thought in a lot of ways FF6 was superior, however I think I was introduced to it a little too late, and you can't really see a SNES game the same when you're playing it on your PS2...

Anyone got any thoughts on the subject?

i havnt played any of them, well once a demo, but it made me think of a 3d version of pokemon (hit game at the time)

and since then i have never ever played it, seems rubbish to me

Dunno where you got Pokemon from outta any FF game, but fair play...

In my opinion they're some of the most well crafted games ever made though, and totally with out having to catch any of them, let alone all of them...

Maybe it was from the option to raise Chocobos in FF7.
I prefer the older series though, but I like FF8 for its storyline. Very romantic

10 was some of the best graphically intensive ones they made till date, VIII was the one where I was more engaged in the story than the game, IX plainly sucked because I hated being a cat, VII was the one that WOWed me because it was the first step into 3D. ( Cloud looks square, but still its 3D )

I would however prefer IV. No reason however, because it was the first that I played

It has to be FFVII for me. Probably a little biased because it was the first one I'd played, but years later I still think it had the best characters and system. Has anyseen the CGI Advent Children yet? I got a Jap import and it's great. No plot but some fantastic fight sequences

I got it from eBay and my version does have subtitles. Site such as lik-sang have it too, but I can't guarantee the subtitles

I don't play final fantasy games, i don't like them, I don't say they are bad but they realy aren't my kind of game!
As for the film I got it for Chritsmas a few years back and could realy only hold through ten minutes of it....so i suppose i musn't be a final fantasy person!
