Kid's Telly

What are your memories of Children's TV?

I remember getting ready for school whilst watching the snorks. Aah, happy days!

I also remember, this is going back a bit, there was a programme with mad gigantic tomatoes. My brother remembers it, but everyone else thinks I'm mad when I mention it.

Ah, the memories of children's television. Well my favourites were Oakie Doke, Brum, Joshua Jones oh and of course The Racoons.

A site that you might find interesting on the subject.

Ah yes, I remember brum. I preferred Thomas the Tank Engine though.

The racoons were cool. Wasn't there that weird pink thingy with the dodgy nose called cedric?

Ah, I really couldn't tell you, I just remember loving the theme tune at the beggining. Thomas the Tank Engine was brilliant. Funny Bones, and Poddington Peas were also legendary.

'Down at the bottom of the garden, among the birds and the bees, a little lot of little people, they call the Poddington Peas!'

Oh, the days...

Funny you mention the poddington peas, one of my mum's friends was one of the animators.

I think I still have my Funny Bones tape somewhere!

Do you remember Penny Crayon, Family Ness and BANANA MAN!?

Indeed, I remember all of them. I especially likes Penny Crayon, and Banana Man was just fantastic, the intro was brilliant.

You should search through the site, they have every single theme tune, which makes for some good listening.

Byker, Byker Grove!

I too remember watching the Queen's Nose at a rather stupid age, but I mean the first series was just classic. Core, the things I would have done with that coin.
