Leongest running TV show

What is the longest running TV show? If you know one maybe you can share why it has been passing the test of time.

"Meet the Press" is longest running TV show . It started way back 1947 and still running for more than 58 years now. It is highly informative with a track record of the only show which brought in every US President since President Kennedy appeared.

"Gunsmoke", at 20 years and 633 episodes, the longest-running American prime-time drama TV series to date. - imdb.com

Westerns were big when that show was on. And it was well done. James Arness was tv's version of John Wayne.

The Simpsons seems to be the longest running tv show for me. It was made some time ago before I was born and they are still at it.

No kidding! And I thought it was just me who felt this way!! Every time my hubby and I find a show we really like, we always have to say "oh, I wonder how long this will last?!"
