| Movie Buff | I checked your posting for this at switchdisks and it points very clearly the whole problem with letting users set their own prices. Smallville season 1 is listed for $120, Smallville season 2 for $65 and your listing of Smallville season 3 for $55. These can all be picked up brand-new in the box for $30 or $35. There's a terrible discrepancy here, isn't there? These prices are terribly inflated on items that are not rare. I still can't believe you really suggested that Peerflix allow something like this just so you could list some of your overpriced items on the bigger service. It's beyond ridiculous. Stick with switchdisks, but until they change their pricing to something more reasonable, I'm going to stay with Peerflix. lol, Dave | ||

| To each their own Dave, to each their own. I don't disagree about the bogus pricing on the Season 1. If that was for the Seaon 1 - 4 compilation, then maybe that price makes sense, but then again... You are looking at things currently assuming a SB = $1 That's not really the case (though Switchdiscs.com currently sells them at that price). Most users are looking at things there as a new release = 20 (SD's "recommended" price for the disc) SBs. If that is the case, that single disc item = 20 SBs, then it makes more sense that a set would be valued around 3 times that price, if not more, considering the box, art work, other materials, etc. As things currently sit, the pricing looks funny, but when you consider that to get the items priced at 60 SBs, you are normally going to be trading 3 non set discs to get the credits needed for the set. Now, slow down and tell me again how many trades (on average) you'd go through at PF for the same sort of exchange? Oh, yeah, right, most discs there are 2 PBs, most sets are 6 PBs, so you are in effect trading 3 single disc items for one set. You can't (currently) look at the SB price and use it as a cash value. If you do, then I agree, it's pretty stupid. Why pay $55 - $60 cash for the item? SD has said they recognize the problem and will have it fixed soon with new pricing that is established by them, rather than user set. Meanwhile, I would point out that whoever does "switch" with me to get Smallville S3 is getting it for 5 SB's less than I "paid for it". In my case, most of those SBs came from trading away a few XBox 360 games, as most of those are much closer in value to the SB prices (or at least they are when I put them into the system as I won't play along with inflated values, at least not in most cases.... In the case of Smallville S3, I left the price a little high to recoup some of the SBs I spent on the item, and also because I will most certainly ship the item priority mail, with delivery confirmation, costing myself $5 in cash). The best I can tell you is KISS dood. If you don't like SD, then don't play along, go elsewhere... For that matter, pop a DVD into your player and go watch some TV. == For the record though, at least you aren't getting slammed for posting a poll here (Also for the record, I think it was pretty cold and rude, and narrow minded, of Bryan or whomever wiped your poll about whether or not folks like the Peermailer to have done that. That was uncalled for on their part and seems to indicate that they know they are fighting a losing battle and would be caught in the lie when a fair number of members of the backlot speak up to say they don't like the Peermailers.) | ||

| Movie Buff | I hoping switchdisks switches soon and want to check it out after the switch. I really don't understand wiping my poll particularly as the main statement and first answer are somewhat biased for Peerflix not against Peerflix. I really feel as you do that their survey really didn't look good for the peermailer. I don't see how publishing the results as I have asked would hurt their company at all unless the above were the case. Do you? Anyway we'll see how long the link to this poll lasts. It does appear that most of the people reading the message aren't using the link to vote. Do they think we bite (other than figuratively) over here? lol, Dave | ||
